Santa Clause and a few of his closest friends came to town for the 49th annual Help Santa Toy Parade in Ottawa on November 17. Organized by the Ottawa Professional Fire Fighters’ Association, the event drew tens-of-thousands of people to the parade route to kick off the holiday season.
While marching bands, carollers, dancers and kids of all ages filled the capital’s streets with Christmas cheer, Ottawa Fire, Ottawa Police and charity groups collected toys along the parade route to support less fortunate children in the Ottawa-Carleton area.
Here’s a snapshot of some of the parade’s highlights.
